The Texas Water Resources Institute and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are hosting a public meeting on Nov. 22 in Lufkin for anyone interested in becoming involved in a partnership to improve and protect water quality in the Middle Neches (Jack, Cedar, Hurricane and Biloxi Creeks), located in Angelina County. The meeting will be held at 10 AM at the Texas Forestry Association, 1903 Atkinson Drive, in Lufkin. During the meeting, water quality data will be presented and a session will be held to discuss possible approaches to address elevated levels of bacteria in the Middle Neches River.
